Donation of Materials in favor of the Presidential Guard Brigade

Beirut, June 26th, 2018 – Today, at the premises of the Command Brigade of the Lebanese Presidential Guard, a ceremony took place in the presence of the Ambassador of ITALY, H.E. Massimo MAROTTI, the Military Attaché, Col. Massimiliano SFORZA, the Commander of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) Col. Stefano GIRIBONO and Lebanese military authorities, to mark the delivery of high-performance equipment donated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to the Presidential Guard of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

In his speech, Ambassador Marotti stressed that “security is the pillar for freedom and more prosperity”. This is the concept behind Italy’s support to the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces. Since 2017, MIBIL has built a consolidated collaboration with the Presidential Guard, carrying out a wide and ambitious training program to the benefit of this elite brigade.

The high-performance material donated today is produced in Italy, and consists of 2 different “lots” allowing the staff of the Presidential Guard Brigade to carry out operational activities, specifically in the field of Close Protection / Close Quarter Battle (1st lot) and of Cleaning and Detection (2nd lot)
