Sex Up the Way!

Women have been associated with sexuality for as long as men had eyes. We might lament that we live in a society that objectifies women excessively, but they have been cast in that light for much longer than that. Women have been regulated to a role where they have to resort to sleeping with powerful men to gain power. Is this still the case? Hasn’t society moved on from the days and beliefs of antiquity?

Boudicca, Celtic warrior queen of the Iceni people of Eastern England. After the Romans took their land, stripped her, flogged her and raped her daughters, she led a rebellion against them, destroying several cities and armies in the process.

When one considers some of the most influential women in history, there are always men involved somewhere in the equation. Take for example Cleopatra the famous Egyptian queen and beauty icon. She managed to subdue two great Roman generals Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony. Was it just her beauty that did so? History tells us that Cleopatra was highly educated and charming. Recent 3D reconstruction techniques have rebuilt the face of Cleopatra to show a woman that, while pretty, was never the sensation she was reported to be. Historians are now conceding that it was her intelligence that brought down two great men who have known the pleasures of hundreds if not thousands of women. Another figure in history is Boudicca who led a bloody trial for revenge in the name of her people at the spearhead of any army of men who bowed to her courage and ferocity.

How do we really see women today? Feminists can screech all they want, but we are still light years away from any sense of true equality. Our young women and men are polluting social media with demeaning images and spewing body-shaming hate. The entire world is sexualized yet women still bear the stigma in an almost exclusive capacity. You don’t hear many men complaining about sexual harassment, and even if we double their figures to account for some men being too ashamed to admit, it is still a fraction of what women go through. Women are still stalked, raped and murdered by men who do not accept rejection. Women are subjecting their better sensibilities in order to satisfy the image of a sexual nymph goddess they are expected to be. And should one of them rise up beyond meritocracy, she is immediately accused and found guilty of sleeping around into her position. With everything that has happened in the millennia that women have struggled through to prove themselves, they are still nothing but what a man allows them to be. Therein lie the problem; men are not ready to surrender their absolute dominance and will seek to undermine even the most powerful woman into nothing but a whore sleeping her way to the top. Other women might reflect the same nonsense because they are incapable of breaking through their own limitations to grow into their own person.

The women of today have come a long way. They deserve the recognition and respect for the accomplishments they have made. Not every woman gets there by opening her legs, and no one would if the world was not ruled by the contents of men’s underwear.
