WhatsApp has introduced a new security feature few months ago: End-To-End Encryption.

Why WhatsApp will be the dominant messaging and social media mobile tool?

Updated Article with tips for Android and iPhone users: How to send Original High Quality Photos without trimming or quality loss!

WhatsApp is more than a messaging tools application. It is a cross-platform instant messaging application that allows smartphone users to exchange text, images, location, contact, audio and video messages. Recently, WhatsApp has introduced top notch new features,  End-To-End Encryption and Document Sharing

What does End-To-End Encryption exactly mean? Let us discover together the power of this security feature.

Some of your most personal moments are shared on WhatsApp, which is why WhatsApp built end-to-end encryption into the latest versions of WhatsApp’s app. When end-to-end encrypted, your messages and calls are secured so only you and the person you’re communicating with can read or listen to them, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp. While sharing these personal moments on other social platform are either public or monitored by curious hackers or government’s intelligence agencies.

Have you ever had to worry on sharing sensitive information with your friend, employee, colleague or any of your family member? If so, end-to-end encryption gives you not only the security of sharing sensitive data but also a great deal of peace of mind.

Or to put it another way, knowing that others are capable to browse deep into your private moments and life can generate anxiety and sometimes serious issues and risks.

This is only one example of why WhatsApp will be in the nearby future the dominant messaging for mobile app and social media.

The Power of Document Sharing feature

Now you can send PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, slideshows and more, without the hassle of email or file sharing apps. You can send documents up to 100 MB, so it’s easy to get what you need over to who you want.

The question is how to send original high quality photos on WhatsApp without trimming them or decreasing quality?

What happens when you share photos the way you are used to? WhatsApp lowers the resolution and trims the image, total quality loss. The good news, with the new document sharing feature, you can now send your original high quality photos or videos without trimming or loosing quality.

For Android Users

At the top right corner of your WhatsApp screen tap the paperclip icon to add an attachment to your message and select “Document”. WhatsApp will bring a list of documents on your phone, browse your phone directory and select the photo you want to send. Voilá!

For iPhone Users

WhatsApp won’t bring a list of documents on your phone. But, there is a play around trick that works like a charm and will let iPhone users send original high quality photos to anyone on their contact list.

First, you will have to upload your photos, or just the ones you want to send, to a cloud storage such as Drive or OneDrive to name some. I will suppose that you have one these cloud storages installed on your iPhone.

Next step, at the bottom left corner of your WhatsApp screen, tap the plus (+) sign icon then select “Document”. This will bring a list of cloud storages apps installed on your iPhone. I’ll suppose you signed up with OneDrive, browse its directory and select one or more photos you want to send.

Enjoy!
